Researchers and implementation partners from the Think Earth Subproject 8, Hybrid Elements, recently toured the HORTUS building near Basel. As a member of the Think Earth project and also as project architect with Herzog de Meuron, Alexander Franz led the group through various parts of the building and shared his experiences during the design, planning, and construction phases. With the project nearly complete, the tour offered a great chance to see the building's timber structure and rammed-earth elements before the normal occupancy phase begins in this pioneering project. Thank you to Alexander for offering the tour and for sharing many insights during discussions in our Think Earth Innosuisse Flagship.
